I made this drawing in 2017 for the risograph-printed program for HÄXÄN Festival in Oakland, California.
HÄXÄN is a festival that showcases film, performance, and installation art celebrating the personal occult.
I was inspired by the ecstatic visions of St. Teresa, Bernini’s 17th century sculptural depiction of them, and the relic of Teresa’s left hand that is housed today at the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Merced in Andalusia.
