“Sally Go ‘Round the Roses,” short film

“Sally Go ‘Round the Roses” is a film comprised of narrative and documentary vignettes that explore the symbol of the rose and its human companion, the woman, as they have appeared together in the art, history, religion, and folklore of the world. It is an ongoing collaboration between myself and my co-director and shining star, Phaedra Mae Restad. The images below are captured from footage I have shot on video, Super8, and 16mm film in Tyler, Texas, New York City, and Philadelphia.
